The 2021/22 season saw Real Madrid crowned champions. Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla joined them in the Champions League places. Real Betis and Real Sociedad qualified for the Europa League while Villarreal will be the first Spanish side to play in the Europa Conference League. Granada, Levante and Alaves were relegated. The new season will bring a new challenge for everyone with the teams trying to be active in the summer window to make complete their teams.

Real Madrid’s 2022-23 LaLiga fixtures have been revealed. The reigning champions will get the competition underway on the road at Almería on the weekend of 13 and 14 August. Ancelotti’s boys then close out their league campaign at home against Athletic on the weekend of 3 and 4 June.

Los Clásicos are set to be played on matchday 9 in Madrid (weekend of 15-16 October) and matchday 26 in Barcelona (weekend of 18-19 March). The derby clashes with Atlético come on matchday 6 away from home (17-18 September) and matchday 23 on home turf (25-26 February). This year’s calendar is asymmetrical, meaning the order of the fixtures in the second half of the season will not be the same as in the first.

The ball of 2022-23 Campaign

Meanwhile the ball of the new campaign was revealed before the end of the season on May 25. The new La Liga ball is developed by Puma. La Liga clubs will then have the month of June off before returning for pre-season in July. That’s a month before the 2022/23 season with this brand new ball gets underway. The official start date as things stand is August 12th – it will run until the following June. That’s a month longer than usual and it’s because the World Cup in Qatar will have to be crowbarred in.

The new sphere has a graphic inspired by the hypnotic effect of a kaleidoscope. ÓRBITA was launched simultaneously in six countries: Spain, Korea, Egypt, Mexico, South Africa and Thailand. The presentation event in Spain took place at the 'LaLiga TwentyNine's' restaurant on Madrid's Gran Vía , which was redesigned for the occasion and hosted an interactive experience inspired by the new ball.
