An overview of Madridistas on International Duty

Carvajal, Nacho and Ceballos (Spain) all took part in their nation's opening European Championship qualifying win, while Nacho did not feature in the second fixture. Modrić (Croatia) played from the start in both Euro 2024 qualifiers, while Camavinga and Tchouameni (France) were involved in two victories for their team. Valverde also played two friendly games for Uruguay, while Alaba took part in Austria's second win. Militão, Vini Jr. and Rodrygo (Brazil), as well as Lunin (Ukraine) all played a single international fixture. Courtois, who played in Belgium's first match, was released from the squad for the second clash. Below is an overview of the games where they participated:

Spain-Norway (3-0)

Scotland-Spain (2-0)

Carvajal, Nacho and Ceballos are in Luis de la Fuente's first squad for Spain's two Euro 2024 qualifiers. The national side got off to a winning start against Norway as Carvajal and Nacho played the full 90 minutes and Ceballos came on in the second half. Ceballos played from the start in the clash with Scotland, while Carvajal came on after the break and Nacho did not feature.


Croatia-Wales (1-1)

Turkey-Croatia (0-2)

Luka Modrić took part in a double-header in the Euro 2024 qualifiers. The Croatian ace was in the starting eleven in his country's draw against Wales and played 84 minutes in the win over Turkey.



Japan-Uruguay (1-1)

South Korea-Uruguay (1-2)

Valverde was involved in a couple of friendly matches with Uruguay. The madridista captained his country for the first time, getting on the scoresheet in the draw against Japan (1-1), before setting up the winner against South Korea.


France-Netherlands (4-0)

Ireland-France (0-1)

Camavinga and Tchouameni played two qualifiers with France for UEFA EURO 2024. The French national team, drawn in Group B, beat the Netherlands at the Stade de France. Tchouameni was instrumental in the third goal by providing the assist and played 76 minutes. He was replaced by teammate Camavinga. On their visit to Ireland, France secured their second victory with Camavinga playing the full 90 minutes and Tchouameni coming on in the second half.


Austria-Azerbaijan (4-1)

Austria-Estonia (2-1)

Austria called up Alaba for two home matches in Group F of the Euro 2024 qualifiers. They first beat Azerbaijan in Linz, Alaba did not play. The Madrid defender then played the second half of his country’s win over Estonia.



Morocco-Brazil (2-1)

Vini Jr, Militão and Rodrygo took part in a friendly match with Brazil. The three Madrid players started their team's visit to Tangiers, where they failed to beat Morocco.


Sweden-Belgium (0-3)

Courtois played the full 90 minutes in the first qualifier for the European Championship, where his national team beat Sweden. The Real Madrid goalkeeper has been withdrawn from the second game, which will take place in Cologne against Germany.


Ukraine-England (2-0)

Ukraine were beaten by England at Wembley in a European Championship qualifier. Lunin didn't feature.
