Following this away victory over Getafe, Carlo Ancelotti recorded his 90th win in the league and moves into third place in the standings for the madridista coach with the most LaLiga wins after suprassing Beenhakker's tally (89). It's taken the Italian 122 games to reach this figure, seeing him achieve a winning percentage of 73.7%. Only Miguel Muñoz (257) and Zidane (124) have won more league games in the Madrid dugout.

The Italian coach appeared in the press room at the Coliseum to assess Real Madrid's win over Getafe. His team took another important victory in the race for the top spot of La Liga table, waiting for the return match vs Shakhtar on Tuesday and then going on mission for the game that everyone’s waiting: El Clasiso. He appreciated the team’s effort in this tough and physical game and also praised their solidity which made possible concluding the game with a clean sheet, something that has been not an easy task for Madridistas during this La Liga campaign.

He expressed himself as follows: "The team played well and deserved the win. I come away very pleased because last season we slipped up here and we were more solid, and stronger in our duels this time around. We also managed to keep a clean sheet which is hugely important because we showed real intensity and defended very well. Militão and Rüdiger were fantastic, as was Tchouameni in front of them".

The Boss continued: "Sometimes you have games where you feel very comfortable on the ball. We scored early on and that helped us not to rush things or force the play too much. We moved the ball well and controlled the game but we weren't as clinical up top as we have been on other occasions. We've created a lot of chances over the last couple LaLiga games but we haven't scored many goals".

Getting ready for El Clásico: “It’s still a long way off. We’ve got a game before then and I may rotate the team a bit more on Tuesday and give the players who are feeling the most tired a rest”.

On Valverde’s position: “I’ve spoken to him and he told me that his favourite position is to be out there and playing. He doesn’t enjoy being on the bench”.

Speaking about Hazard: “He’s fine and is training well. He’ll get his chance very soon”.
