It is a golden chance for the youngster to show himself as he joins many young players at Real Madrid and also many veterans where he can learn and further complete his maturation. Having experience in difficult championships with top teams by this age make him quite an interesting player and with a good perspective to add in Ancelotti’s platoon. His contract with Madrid is set for 4 years until 2027 with the aim to become a superstar. As his return was already made known before the end of the season, the usual steps were followed, with Brahim visiting the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, where he successfully passed the medical examination ahead of his presentation as a new Real Madrid player.
Brahim was unveiled as a Real Madrid player during the presentation ceremony that took place at Real Madrid City and began with the screening of a video showing some of the player's highlights. Florentino Pérez then spoke: "He's here with us, making this squad even stronger, one of those great players who possesses the talent and quality of those who are destined to triumph in our jersey. You've demonstrated the strength and courage to want to prove from afar that your football, your hard work and your ambition to improve every day would bring you back to Real Madrid. And now, at just 23 years of age, you return, but with the experience and fortitude of having performed as one of the best in such a difficult league as is Italian football".
"Today you begin a new chapter in your career full of hope and emotions. Our fans will always stand by you along this journey. They will give you everything they can because we know how hard you have worked to get back in this jersey. You've learned to live with the enormous pressure at Real Madrid. However, you're also aware that our values will always guide you through the most difficult moments. You belong to a club where the word "give up" doesn't exist. Everything is possible with hard work, respect, humility, teamwork and solidarity. That's how we are renowned around the world and that's why we have won 14 European Cups”, he said.
Hunger for success: "Nobody should have any doubt that we are going to continue to build a team hungry for more success and new victories. We have players who, even though they have won everything, they know what Real Madrid means. They have learned here that every trophy is the first step towards winning the next one. Real Madrid is relentless, even in the fight for the impossible, and that is why the club is the most loved and admired in the world".
The Madrid player followed the president and said: "I would like to thank you for choosing me to continue to write the history of the best club in the world. I understand what this jersey means, what it means to wear this badge and to represent Real Madrid. I return better prepared, with the ambition to improve myself and for my day-to-day work to be guided by the demands of the best club in the world. Just as I said on the first day: Real Madrid and only Real Madrid. Until the end, come on Real, Hala Madrid!”
Before the presentation ceremony, Brahim signed his contract in the boardroom of Real Madrid City with president Florentino Pérez, confirming his return to the club until 30 June 2027. Following the signing, he was presented with a watch, a replica of the Santiago Bernabéu and a jersey with his name and the number 21.
After his unveiling as a Real Madrid player, Brahim spoke to the media at a press conference. The forward said: "I've grown and matured at Milan over the last three years both on and off the pitch. I want to be successful at Real Madrid, the best team in the world. I'm very happy to be back. My first thought was that it was a long day, but it was my day and I was going to have a great time with my family. It's one of the happiest days of my life. Being here is every child's dream and making it come true for the second time is even more of a dream. I want to fight for this badge because it is the biggest in the world".
His strengths: "I'm lucky to be able to play with both feet which gives me an advantage. My best position is wherever the coach puts me. Out wide you have more balance and in the centre you can connect with the players up top. I'll be happy wherever the coach puts me".
Benzema's departure: "Benzema is a great player and him leaving adds pressure, but that's the beauty of it. You have to give your best and I'm sure I'll be up to the level and I'll represent Madrid as the best club in the world".
Did you speak to Ancelotti? "I haven't spoken to him yet. I will and I'll get up to date. I'm happy to be able to work with him".
Teammates: "I've got friends and spoken to some of them. They've congratulated me on my return and they're looking forward to seeing me, as I'm looking forward to seeing them".
Rodrygo: "We're teammates and we want the best for the club. Each of us will give our best. He's a great player and extremely talented. We get on very well. I want to contribute hard work and trophies".
How is Madrid perceived from the outside? "You only have to see what they achieved last season. I'm very happy. It's evident that they're the best team in the world. The trophies they win, the magical comebacks and the nights at the Bernabéu are special and they mean a lot to me. I'm looking forward to getting started and joining my teammates.
Did you ever think you wouldn't come back? "I'm here and I'm very happy. I tried to do my best for that team when I was in Milan because it's a very big and historic club. My first choice was to be here and I'm very happy to be back".
Competition for a starting place: "Competition is there, but that's a good thing. I'm at the best team in the world, with the best players, and that's good both for the coach and for Real Madrid. I'm obviously coming back to succeed, but always through hard work, humility and the constant desire to learn from the fantastic dressing room here, which continues to win things. I have to work hard and listen to the coach".
Do you think you're here to be a luxury substitute like Asensio? "Asensio is a great player and a great teammate. You try to give the most for Real Madrid and then the coach will decide. You have to work with modesty and learn to always improve".
His time at Milan: "I'm very grateful to Milan, who've helped me to grow. The three years I've been there have been very useful. I won the Serie A and we reached the semi-finals of the Champions League. I was very happy and they were very good to me. The possibility of joining Madrid came up at the end of the season and they always respected the timing".
What do you feel most prepared for? "I've spent three seasons at Milan and the demands and the pressure is high. Every player has been up to the job and we've brought a lot of excitement back to the club. I was a kid when I arrived, with the same talent, but I've played a lot more minutes in big competitions like the Champions League. That helps you to mature".
Differences between La Liga, Premier League and Serie A: "I've been lucky enough to play in three big leagues and I've learnt a lot in each one. Each has come at a different time. I was very young in the first two and I'm still young now, but more mature. It's more physical in England. Here the game is more technical and played more on the ground. Italy is more tactical. It's allowed me to grow and to come here with more motivation".
Spanish national team: "Playing for the national team is an honour, but it's not the right time to talk about it. I just want to talk about my return and I'll talk about that another time. If I do well here, opportunities will come for me in the national team. I'm only thinking about doing well with Madrid so that the opportunities come".
Butragueño, also spoke for the press and commented Brahim’s return: Real Madrid's director of Institutional Relations, Emilio Butragueno, joined Brahim at the press conference: "We're very proud to have a player like you in our team and there's no doubt in our minds that you're going to bring a lot to the team. You have shown your talent, your mentality, your hard work and your values over the last three seasons. For that reason, every madridista is delighted to have you back with us. We wish you all the best and we're confident that you'll achieve a lot of success with this jersey. Welcome to Real Madrid".
Following the presentation ceremony and press conference, the forward changed into the Real Madrid kit, and posed with it at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium. Brahim Díaz is back at our club and is already sporting the Real Madrid jersey.
