A few days ago Camavinga was finally revealed as a new Real Madrid player. After signing the contract for six seasons publically alongside the president Perez, he stayed to speak to the media and express his happiness and his vision about this big career step. With enthusiasm and determination he told everyone about the massive importance of his transfer to Real Madrid.

The official presentation took place at Real Madrid City and kicked off with the screening of a video featuring some of the player's best footage. The president Florentino Pérez then took the floor: "The club would like to welcome today a young French player who I firmly believe will display his talent, his strength and his desire to improve. I know that today Real Madrid fans are going to warmly welcome the arrival of this footballer who, together with his family, has worked hard and done everything possible to realize one of the biggest dreams of his life".

"At just 18 years of age, you will wear the Real Madrid jersey for the first time, one of the most admired and respected clubs in the world, the club that has won 13 European Cups. The club that asks for maximum commitment and maximum dedication. As of today, you will be defending a badge that has the greatest trophy cabinet in the history of football, but which also represents a set of values forged by our 119 years of history and with which millions of people in every corner of the world identify".

Camavinga playing at the Santiago Bernabéu: "Football is returning to the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. It's very exciting to say this after everything we have been through during these sad and strange times. Eduardo, this Sunday you will be at the Bernabéu as from now on you have the responsibility of being part of this legendary club".

"You will not be alone in your career here. You will have our fans behind you in every match. Their strength and support will be with you on this journey. They are the reason and the driving force behind everything we do. We have experienced and continue to endure a painful and very complex time. The pandemic has so far prevented us from being with our fans, but we will gradually get back to normality".

Eduardo Camavinga gave the interview to the club's official media channels after he was unveiled as a new Real Madrid player. The French midfielder stated: "Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world and has won the most titles ever. It's a club that makes people dream and has won more trophies than any other in history. Just look at the number of European Cups they've won. We all dream of Real Madrid from when we're kids".

Camavinga added: "I'm very proud to defend this badge. I would like to thank the president and all my family for their confidence in me. If someone had told me a few years ago that I would be here, I wouldn't have believed it. Hala Madrid!".

He said how Mendy, the fellow Madridista Frenchman, had been waiting for his to give a warm welcome: “I spoke to Mendy a while back and he told me he was waiting for me there. I'll bring all my character, fight on the pitch, technique and joyful approach to life. That's what I'll give Real Madrid”.

He spoke about Ancelotti saying: “He speaks great French, so that makes things easier. We've spoken, it was really nice to touch base". Then he also said something about the “teachers” that will share precious experiences with him: ”Modrić, Kroos and Casemiro have won so many titles. Learning from them every day is a pleasure and I hope to follow in their footsteps”.

After the signing, the Frenchman received a watch, a replica of the Santiago Bernabéu and a jersey with his name and the number 25 shirt.

Camavinga also made a “stop” at Real Madrid Castilla before being confirmed as a first team player. Los Blancos finalised his signing before last weekend, but they didn't want to present the player in order to avoid a possible bureaucratic issue. When Camavinga was signed late on August 31, the club registered him as a Castilla player and the answer for this is very simple: Real Madrid, until the very last minute, were trying to complete the signing of the summer in Kylian Mbappe.

They didn't want anything to cause a problem with their pursuit of the forward, and the first-team squad was full, even if Alvaro Odriozola's move to Fiorentina gave them a little more wriggle room. To avoid any issues, Miguel Gutierrez, Sergio Arribas, Antonio Blanco and Marvin Park were all registered with Castilla, too.

A lot of players could have left on the last day of the window, most notably Mariano Diaz, Luka Jovic and Dani Ceballos, but in the end everything was clear and the green light was given for Camavinga to then move into the first team.
