Carlo Ancelotti addressed the media following the match vs Club America. Real Madrid’s Boss seemed more content with this game especially with the second half as the team was more energetic. He appreciated the work of the players and told more about his choices and tests. The coach discussed the second pre-season friendly against the Mexicans as follows:

“Club América has played a good match. Open. I think the people have enjoyed it. It is a good time to play this type of match. Competitive and with intensity. Of course, we are not at the same physical level as América, which has already started their league. But this type of match is good for us”.

He continued: "The game was a good one, better than the first. We struggled at the start up against a well-organised side. The team settled into the match and performed well and played in a different way to the first half. We played with more intensity and controlled play. The second half was more dynamic, with Ceballos and Camavinga changing positions. They both played well and brought a lot of energy. Ceballos is very good in possession".

Benzema: "He's in good shape, despite having not trained much. He's fine but needs to work on his fitness. We're working hard and the players aren't feeling fresh. We'll reduce the workload after the Juventus game until we play the Super Cup".

Alaba: "He had to play at full-back today because we wanted to have a look at Rüdiger at centre-back and he did well. Mendy is the first-choice in that position but if he has problems both can play in that position. We won't have any problems there".

Oracle Park: "It was a very good atmosphere. The pitch was in good condition and it was a good game. The crowd enjoyed the game and Club America put in a good performance".

Hazard and Tobias: "We need to give Hazard minutes in these games because he's a great player and we need him. Tobias came on because he's a very good young player. He's very focused in training and I gave him some minutes because of that".

Tchouameni: "He's a different type of midfielder to Casemiro as he holds his position more. He's got the ability to score goals. He's improving and he demonstrated that in the Barcelona game where we explained to him where he needs to improve. He has to take up better positions to play faster".

Next match: "We have to keep in mind the players who won the Champions League. The Super Cup is related to last season and we have to round it off by winning it. The players who I think will play more in the Super Cup will get more playing time against Juventus"

After the coach’s words it was Lucas Vázquez who addressed the media reflected on the meeting against Club América, the side's second friendly outing of the Soccer Champions Tour. The Spaniard confirmed the improved performance of the team and spoke about the main objective of the team. He spoke about the encounter in the following terms:

"It was a tough game, you could see that they played with great tempo, but the the team got stronger as the game wore on and ultimately put in a good performance. The objective we've got in our minds is to get ourselves up to speed ahead of 10 August for the UEFA Super Cup. These games are allowing us to get ourselves up to speed".

Vazquez also discussed the current roster when asked about whether or not the team needs signings to add more depth to the offensive line: “That’s for the club or the coach to decide, we’re happy with the players we have here”, said Vazquez.

He also had something to say about Benzema: "Regardless of who he's playing for, you'd notice it when Karim isn't playing. He's the best player in the world and proves it day in, day out”.

Vazquez concluded his media appearance by saying that he likes his new position as a right-back: “I like it, yes, I feel very comfortable playing there. Being Real Madrid’s right-back also gives me the opportunity to attack very often”, he explained.
