Dani Carvajal marks his 200th match for Real Madrid in La Liga

ree

Dani Carvajal has reached a great milestone in this last weekend: 200 matches with the white shirt in La Liga. 200 matches full of passion, battles, emotions, tears of sadness and joy! His journey has not been easy but with hard work he has been able to become a key player in a team like Real Madrid and Madridistas always loved him for the commitment and love towards the white shirt.

Dani Carvajal had just returned from injury and 25 minutes against Levante also marked his 200th LaLiga appearance for Real Madrid. The Real Madrid homegrown reached his 200th La Liga appearance for Real Madrid against Levante at the Ciutat de Valencia Stadium. He came on in the second half against Levante. He replaced Lucas Vazquez, who had played his part in the absence on the right flank.

The full-back came on as a substitute, because he is still not at 100%. Carvajal was injured at the end of last season with a hamstring problem that has kept him out of action until then. The match against Levante, therefore, was doubly good news for the defender. He returned to play after several months out injured and did so on his double bicentenary in LaLiga.

Carvajal, despite the physical problems he has had over the last few seasons, renewed his contract with Real Madrid until 2025 before the start of the current campaign. The full-back was linked to 'Los Blancos' until June 2022 before this signing. His long-term contract was therefore at risk, especially considering that, from January onwards, he would have been able to negotiate with other clubs without asking for permission from the club that saw him grow up.

Carlo Ancelotti knows Carvajal very well and will continue to give him an important status in his second spell at Real Madrid. In the first, he already had him among his favourites. Together, they won the long-awaited tenth Champions League title for Real Madrid, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Iker Casillas among the historic players in their side.

Real Madrid also made an announcement about this milestone in their social media networks and in their official website: “Dani Carvajal made his 200th LaLiga appearance for Real Madrid in the meeting with Levante at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia. The defender, who put pen to paper on a contract renewal that ties him to the club until 2025 a few weeks ago, reaches this milestone in this, his ninth season as a member of the first-team squad, with whom he has been involved in 133 wins and found the net four times. During his time at the club, he has won four Champions League titles, four Club World Cups, three UEFA Super Cups, two league titles, one Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups. The seasons in which he made most league appearances were 2013-14 (31 games) and 2019-20 (30)”, - the post wrote.
