Everybody wants Bellingham but Real Madrid has more than money to offer to the Englishman

During the World Cup in Qatar and also during the last 1-2 years Jude Bellingham has shown himself to be a very promising player and a future superstar. Since the beginning many top clubs, including Real Madrid, have been following him hoping to convince Borussia Dortmund to release him as soon as possible. But, certainly, releasing him will be too costly. Borussia knows this very well and is carefully evaluation any offer in order to have as much profit as possible from his deal.

And, of course, if nothing works they are still the winners, as in the worst case scenario they will enjoy the services of a great player until, at least, June 2025. The Bundesliga side have to factor in a five per cent sell-on clause to the England midfielder’s former club Birmingham, agreed as part of the deal which saw them sign the teen for £22m in 2020.

There are four giants already occupying the spots of the most reliable club to have his services. Both Manchester clubs and Liverpool would love to bring him to the Premier League, while Real Madrid are confident they can trump them all. It has made a top-four finish vital for Liverpool, while United know they need the same after slipping down the pecking order of go-to clubs for the most wanted players in recent seasons.

There is growing feeling in Germany that Madrid and City lead the race for the 19-year-old, due to their financial clout. City could raise around £75m if Bernardo Silva is sold at the end of the season, while Ilkay Gundogan is also in the final six months of his contract. Despite Madrid's strong links to Bellingham, boss Carlo Ancelotti recently distanced his side from a swoop.

The Italian, who already has under his orders a midfield consisted of veteran stars Luka Modric & Toni Kroos, has managed to properly integrate three amazing youngsters like Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga and Fede Valverde, into his team. He commented on the English youngster as follows: "Bellingham has shown at the World Cup that he is a great midfielder, but so have others. Enzo Fernandez has played very well. Gavi and Pedri as well. Bellingham is one of those very good midfielders, but I’ll stick with the ones we have". But, he is well known for being a great professional and does not allow himself to speak players of other teams and neither likes to reveal the plans of the club.

With all this being said, Real Madrid’s midfield has no dearth of up-and-coming talent. The young yet mature Aurelien Tchouameni anchors the department flawlessly, Federico Valverde adds the X-factor going forward while Eduardo Camavinga can be a potent force on his day. The addition of Jude Bellingham to the already-stacked department would elevate the team to a whole new level. As ridiculous as it sounds, that move is now closer to completion than what was revealed before.

According to reports from MARCA, Los Blancos will offer a sum of around €110 million as a fixed fee for Bellingham in the summer with Borussia asking at least this number. However, they will bridge the gap with Borussia Dortmund’s asking price by including add-ons that will be critical. Adding here Bellingham’s wage which is expected to be in the region of £300,000 per week and a hefty signing bonus, Dortmund expect their stance to flush out the bidders and on the other hand to keep in race only those who are really willing to make a huge investment to the Borussia’s favor.

However Madrid has shown that if the player’s intentions are positive everything can be solved. Endrick was the last, but before him was Tchouameni (and there have been other before too!). These are two examples of footballers who have turned their backs on earning more money at other clubs in order to wear the Real Madrid shirt. The Englishman himself knows how far Real Madrid can go, both materially and intangibly. And that is why he himself leans towards what the white club puts on the table (the successes, a competitive squad, world stars to share the dressing room with, a respectable and winning coach and a perfectly structured club). In the case of Bellingham, the excellent relations with Borussia Dortmund will facilitate the agreement.
