Great rewards for this great period: Valverde is named La Liga POTM & then awarded Mahou 5 Star POTM

After a great month it’s time to get the rewards: Federico Valverde has been named LaLiga player of the month for September. The midfielder delivered a series of superb performances in Real Madrid's three domestic fixtures this month, against Betis, Mallorca and Atlético de Madrid. Then, he was voted Mahou Cinco Estrellas player of the month for September, as this award takes in consideration all of the games played and it it obvious that besides three La Liga matches, he has also excelled in the two Champions League played in Semptember.

All three La Liga games and all of two Champions League games ended with wins for our team. Against Betis, the midfielder set up the winner, before he opened the scoring for Madrid against Mallorca at the Bernabéu and also found the back of the net in the derby at the Cívitas Metropolitano, where he got the league leaders' second of the night. In Champions he featured in both games assisting Vini Jr for the 1st goal vs Celtic and then scoring the goal that broke the deadlock in the complicated game vs Leipzig. A total of three goals and two assists for him!

After being presented with the Mahou trophy, he commented: "Thanks so much for voting. It's a pleasure to receive this award and I hope we can get our hands on many more together. The team is in good shape and we're hungry to keep winning and bring joy to our people. If we stick together, we'll achieve big things".

His good run of form: "I think I'm doing a good job, along with all my teammates. In every sense, emotionally, and in body and mind too. I'm working hard to make sure everything goes well".

His worldie against Mallorca: "You're always working to be in good shape physically and mentally. It's unusual for me to score, especially like that, but I made the most of all my attributes, the power and shooting ability I have. Everything came together in that move and luckily the ball ended up in the back of the net and we all celebrated".

Midfield: "Every one of our midfielders have great qualities which are unique to each of us. We all have something to offer. Toni brings that calmness with the ball, Luka finds the magic pass we need. I bring energy, pace and power, Tchouameni can mark someone out the game. We can all contribute something different".
