It was known that Luka Jovic was about to leave very soon but on Friday the news became official. The Serbian striker joined ACF Fiorentina in Serie A on a permanent deal. The interest of Viola was very obvious and both clubs have been in talks in the recent weeks. The Italians beat the competition with the other teams and secured his services to make space for him to try once again to reach the level that he never reached in Madrid despite his great potential.

Jovic, born in Bijeljina (Bosnia) on 23 December 1997, grew up in the Youth Sector of the Red Star Belgrade and, during his career, besides the shirt of Real Madrid, also wore the shirts of Benfica, and Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring 60 goals in all major competitions.

He was already in Florence, as the Serie A club was informing fans about all his movements on their social networks in a clear sign of their enthusiasm for his signing. Real Madrid have agreed to allow Jovic depart on a free transfer, but they have secured 50 percent of a future sale over the next two years. In exchange, Fiorentina will cover the salary of the player, whose contract with Real Madrid ran until 2025.

In a normal deal, Real Madrid would most likely have been forced to pay part of the player's high salary even if they were to receive a transfer fee, his current value being set at 16 million euros according to the German-based website Transfermarkt.

For Los Blancos, Jovic's salary was taxed at 45.5 percent, but Fiorentina will have to pay just 24 percent in taxes due to the Italian regulations. This means that on a hypothetical scenario that Jovic earns five million euros, the Italian club would pay 6.5 million euros, including taxes.

Real Madrid also made an official post in the website, writing: “Real Madrid C. F. and ACF Fiorentina have agreed a deal for the transfer of Luka Jović. Our club would like to express its gratitude for his work and dedication during his time at Real Madrid, where he has won 1 Champions League, 2 LaLiga titles and 2 Spanish Super Cups. Real Madrid wishes him and his family all the best in this new period of his life”.
