The Mbappe Saga continues and it seems like a game where Real Madrid is trying every move to bring him before the transfer window closes while PSG is trying to make every possible move to make Real Madrid angry and make their life as hard as possible. As fans are watching everything with great interest and curiosity it seems like Monday will be the day that everything will be decided.

Te battle between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain for the future of Kylian Mbappe has turned into a chess game, with every movement, comment or gesture carefully studied by the opposite side. Now, this trial of strength is entering the final stretch. For the french Ligue 1 the transfer window closes on Tuesday, Aug. 31 at 11:59 p.m. BST and for the spanish La Liga Santander the transfer window closes on 10:59 p.m. BST on Tuesday, Aug. 31. There are about 48 hours remaining!

With just over 48 hours to go until the end of the transfer window, the Mbappe situation still hasn't been resolved. This negotiation is proving to be as complicated as was expected, with PSG putting obstacles in the way.

While PSG know this is something of a lost cause, given Mbappe's desire to leave for Real Madrid one way or another, whether now or for free in a year's time, the French club aren't giving in easily. The player is still contracted to the Ligue 1 club until the summer of 2022 and PSG are looking to extract as much out of this fact as they can.

Real Madrid have made an improved offer of 170 million euros, plus a potential 10m euros more in add-ons. It then emerged on Saturday night that Los Blancos have set a deadline of 18:00 CEST on Monday for PSG to respond. So, Kylian Mbappe's move to Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain this summer could be in jeopardy with Spanish club threatening to withdraw their offer. Le Parisien reported that the LaLiga side have sent PSG an ultimatum if the club are unprepared to accept their reported offer of €180 million for the World Cup winner. The report claimed that the hierarchy at the Santiago Bernabeu would like any potential move to be completed by Monday -- or they will walk away from the negotiations.

Rather than accept the offer, what PSG have done in response is including Mbappe in their squad list for their Sunday night match against Reims. That has seen the tension rise further. Mbappe played the match and also made a great performance by scoring two times. That was certainly a move with a very strong message by the French Team.

Some say that this may be the last time Mbappe scores for PSG but after the match it was the coach Mauricio Pochettino who put more fuel to the fire when speaking for Prime Video Sport France, leaving Madrid out of the consideration by saying: “Kylian Mbappe is our player, you know the football industry is full of rumors. Our president and sporting director have been clear. He is with us. I am very happy. He is one of the most important players in the world”.

According to Marca, there are two opinions at the LaLiga Santander club at the moment. On the one hand there are those who appeal to the footballing sense of PSG and the more than generous offer for a player whose contract ends in less than a year. On the other hand, however, there are those who believe there is nothing else at stake than PSG's pride and resentment at seeing how a key player is willing to abandon their project.
