Madridistas collect awards from Tuttosport, AFE, Globe Soccer 2022 & Golsmedia

The start of November was quite a nice time for Real Madrid as Madridistas collected many awards for their achievements. These trophies are the rewards for the great success that was achieved during the 2021-2022 season.


First, it was Carlo Ancelotti who won the 2022 ‘Vittorio Pozzo’ European Golden Boy award for best coach from the sports paper Tuttosport. The Italian publication has recognised the Real Madrid coach's achievements in winning the Champions League, LaLiga, the UEFA European Super Cup and the Spanish Super Cup in 2022. This year, Carlo Ancelotti became the first coach ever to boast four European Cups and the first to win all five major championships (Spain, Germany, France, England, France and Italy). The award, named after the Italy coach who led his country to World Cup triumphs in 1934 and 1938, has also been awarded this year to José Mourinho.



Then it was Karim Benzema, who clinched the 2022 European Golden Boy 2022 player of the year award from sports paper Tuttosport. The Frenchman, who won the Ballón D’Or last month, was the most voted player by a jury of legends selected by the Italian publication. The club captain inspired Real Madrid to clinch the Decimocuarta, the club’s 35th LaLiga title, the 12th Spanish Super Cup and the 5th UEFA Super Cup. He also finished as top goal scorer in the first three competitions with 15, 27 and 2 goals, respectively.


And finally, it was Florentino Pérez who received the 2022 Golden Boy Award for the most highly valued club president of the year according to Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport. Guido Vaciago, director of the paper, presented him with the trophy in the boardroom at Real Madrid City. The club president won the most votes from the panel of legends that the Italian sports paper convened throughout the year in which the Whites have clinched the Champions League, LaLiga, the UEFA Super Cup and the Spanish Super Cup



Globe Soccer 2022 Awards


Real Madrid and our president Florentino Pérez were the centre of attention at the Globe Soccer 2022 Awards ceremony held in Dubai. Our club has been acknowledged as the best of the year after winning the Champions League, LaLiga, the European Super Cup and the Spanish Super Cup.


Florentino Pérez was presented with the Globe Soccer 2022 award for best president of the year. "I would like to express my gratitude for this Globe Soccer Award that I receive personally and also for the one given to Real Madrid as the best club in the world. Being president of Real Madrid makes me very proud, but it is also an enormous responsibility as this club generates a feeling that brings millions of people together all over the world." He said in his speech.


"I want to share this award with all the madridistas that back us every day, and above all with our fans in the United Arab Emirates, with the objective of continuing to work to in order to win new titles and share new joy". He continued.



Furthermore, Carlo Ancelotti was chosen as the best coach of the year in the 13th edition of the Globe Soccer Awards, which were handed out in Dubai. After him, Karim Benzema recieved further recognition for his spectacular 2022 season at the Globe Soccer Awards, where he was selected as player of the year. The Real Madrid captain, winner of the Ballon d' Or and the UEFA Player of the Year, led his team in the winning of the 14th, the 35th Liga, the 12th Spanish Super Cup and the 5th European Super Cup. Benzema, who beat Haaland and Salah in the voting, was the top goalscorer of the Champions League (15 goals), LaLiga (27) and the Spanish Super Cup (2).


After these, it was the time for the first edition of the Spanish Footballers' Association (AFE) awards, which took place at the Real Casino in Madrid and awarded Karim Benzema as the best player of the 2021-22 LaLiga season. The Ballon d'Or winner was a pivotal figure in Real Madrid's title success and finished as the top scorer of the competition with 27 goals. The madridista captain was picked after a vote among the players.



Rewarding an unforgettable season: Apart from his outstanding performances in LaLiga, the Frenchman was one of the stars of the Champions League campaign. His spectacular displays earned him the best player award in the European competition, where he was the top scorer on the road to securing the Decimocuarta. In the 2021/22 season, he also clinched the Spanish Super Cup. Alongside Benzema, another Madrid player was honoured in this first edition of the AFE Awards. Castilla midfielder Sergio Arribas was named the best player in his Primera Federación group.


Real Madrid also were one of the big winners at the 2nd National Edition of the Golsmedia Awards, which took place at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas. The club received the 2022 Super Champions Award for the best team of the season after winning four trophies: Champions League, LaLiga, Spanish Super Cup and UEFA Super Cup. Álvaro Arbeloa collected the trophy.

Bruno Iglesias also received the award for best player in Group V of the División de Honor Juvenil for the 2021-22 season. And Real Madrid B coach David Fernández was voted best coach of Group V of the Primera Nacional Femenina in the 2021-22 season, which saw the team promoted to the Segunda Federación.Arbeloa picked up the award for the best club of the 2021/22 season.
