UEFA's technical observers have included the madridista quartet in the competition's best XI:

Real Madrid are the dominant force in the 2021/22 Champions League Team of the Season. After lifting the Decimocuarta, the UEFA technical observers have named four members of our squad in the team. The quartet in question are Benzema, Courtois, Modrić and Vini Jr. The rest of the Champions League Team of the Season line-up is made up of Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Robertson and Fabinho (Liverpool), Rüdiger (Chelsea), De Bruyne (Manchester City) and Mbappé (PSG).

Champions League Young Player of the Season award for Vini Jr.:

Vini Jr. has been named as the 2021/22 Champions League Young Player of the Season by the UEFA technical observers. The 21 year old grabbed the headlines in the final between Real Madrid and Liverpool after scoring the goal that secured our club's Decimocuarta. Vini Jr. registered four goals and six assists in his 13 Champions League outings this term, numbers which express not only his great individual improvement but also his ability to serve his teammates and to be a crucial piece of the team’s puzzle.

Player of the Season award, Champions League Goal of the Season and Onze d'Or for Karim Benzema:

UEFA's technical observer panel has named Karim Benzema as the 2021/22 Champions League Player of the Season. The Frenchman played a key role as the team clinched the club's Decimocuarta , notching 15 goals in his 12 competition outings. As well as being the leading goal scorer in this season's Champions League, Benzema turned in some sublime performances, such as his three-goal hauls against PSG and Chelsea.

Besides that, The Frenchman's first goal against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge was named as the 2021/22 Champions League Goal of the Season by UEFA's technical observers, who selected a list of the 10 top goals that are to be voted on by supporters. The goal showed a perfect example of team work with an action catching the opponents unprepared following the path Toni Kroos-Benzema-Vini Jr.-Benzema finished by the latter with a beautiful header!

The Real Madrid hitman's strike leads the way in this list, in which in second place we find Vini Jr. 's third goal following a fine piece of individual play in the trip to Shakhtar Donetsk. Ranking in fifth place is Asensio's thumping right-footed effort against Inter at the Bernabéu, whilst sitting in eighth position is Rodrygo 's effort against Chelsea on home soil.

Karim Benzema has also been honoured by French magazine Onze Mondial with the Onze d'Or award for the best player of the 2021/22 season. The striker, who finished as top scorer in the most recent edition of the Champions League and LaLiga, received 37.2% of the votes, ahead of Mané (36.1%) and Lewandowski (10.6%). The Frenchman has collected the award for the second year in a row.
