Karim Benzema was named man of the match in Real Madrid's spectacular comeback against PSG at the Santiago Bernabéu, which saw them book a place in the Champions League quarter-finals. The Frenchman hit all three of the White Team's goals on the night to send Paris Saint Germain home and to overtake Di Stéfano as the third all-time top scorer in Real Madrid history, with 309 to his name.

The forward was delighted to reach the milestone and to have clinched qualification for the next round: "I'm incredibly proud to have overtaken such a true legend. I'm not stopping here. It was a very difficult game but we pushed until the end and we deserved the win and our place in the next round".

"Any Champions League game is always difficult and we knew PSG like to have the ball. We started strongly, created chances and then we conceded the goal, but in the second half, showing great mental strength, we delivered the performance", he added.

Fans: "We want to see this stadium with the fans like they were tonight. We needed them and this win is for them. We lost the first leg and we were 1-0 down at half-time today but the strength of the fans drove us on and we gave it everything we had out on the pitch until the end".

Closing stretch of the season: “Every game is a final for us, both in LaLiga and the Champions League. Real Madrid is alive. When the pressure is on, with every man doing his job and the fans behind us, we can beat anyone".

After the match President Florentino Pérez presented Karim Benzema with a commemorative jersey at Real Madrid City, to recognise the 309 goals he's scored for our team, which see him become the club's third highest goal scorer in history. After his spectacular hat-trick against PSG at the Santiago Bernabéu, the Frenchman overtook Alfredo Di Stéfano (308) and become the club’s third all-time top goal-scorer. Next in Benzema’s sights is Raúl, on 323 goals, who is behind Cristiano Ronaldo, on 451.

The striker, who has already netted 30 goals this season, scored his first goal for Real Madrid on matchday three of the 2009/10 LaLiga season against Xerez and he has won absolutely everything at the club. His impressive silverware list includes 20 trophies: four Champions League trophies, four Club World Cups, three European Super Cups, three LaLiga titles, two Copa del Rey trophies and four Spanish Super Cups.
