After some intensive days and some great press pressure it seems like the Kylian Mbappe case will not have any solution in this transfer market session even why the player is clear with the idea of leaving PSG. Mbappe has joined the National Team of France for the international break and there is no more time left to sort things out since the transfer market closes tonight. Real Madrid likely to walk away from Kylian Mbappe deal in summer window as PSG fail to respond to €180m bid; Mbappe is out of contract in 10 months and is now planning to sign a pre-contract agreement with Real in January.
Real Madrid’s transfer window has been bizarre and disheartening because of so many departures and quite the opposite in arrivals. Over the last week or so, Real Madrid have been in constant talks with PSG about their interest in Kylian Mbappe and their intent to sign him this season, instead of waiting for a few months and signing him on a free transfer.
But, PSG have been hesitant in selling him, if you look at the quotes that have been said by PSG officials. However, it’s not only about the quotes. It’s also about the things we read in reports from reliable sources about what PSG have done. Although the details vary in those reports, the crux is still the same: Real Madrid have walked away from negotiations with PSG.
A report from RMC Sport said that Real Madrid have ended negotiations with PSG, and they’ll try to sign him for free in January. There are also some reports that said Real Madrid’s offers were refused, while others said that PSG never responded to the offers, which resulted in the negotiations being over.
It’s a confusing stance that PSG have taken, simply because no one was expecting them to not agree to Mbappe’s sale. The player wants to leave, and the club doesn’t want him to go for free, which indicates his departure before the end of the transfer window.
But, PSG didn’t accept any offers from Real Madrid either, which just doesn’t make sense. It’s very contradicting because Leonardo said that the club won’t keep a player around if he doesn’t want to play for them, but they’re not letting him go either.
It could just be a bluff from Real Madrid. Deadline day transfers aren’t uncommon for Los Blancos, and it’s unlikely, but still possible that they’re just forcing PSG’s hand, because the French club will not get this much money for Mbappe again, since his contract expires very soon. There’s still a whole day left, and every source says that Real Madrid will listen if PSG call them about Mbappe.
Kylian Mbappe is planning to sign a pre-contract agreement with Real Madrid in January after Paris Saint-Germain failed to reply to the Spanish club's £154.4m (€180m) offer. Real made a second improved bid of £145.8m (€170m) plus £8.57m (€10m) in add-ons and set PSG a deadline to respond by 6pm on Monday.
PSG are still keen to convince Mbappe to sign a new deal, but it is understood there is now no chance of the 22-year-old agreeing to do so. Meanwhile, Mbappe turned up to France's Clairefontaine headquarters on Monday as the world champions prepare to face Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine and Finland in their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Sky Sports News' Kaveh Solhekol on The Transfer Show:
"There is still a chance Real could increase their offer. I've been told PSG will find it difficult to turn down a bid of €200m”. So in the next few hours, could Real go back in and increase their offer?
"What I'm being told is that Real Madrid may go back in - maybe. I don't think they will, I was told they won't go back, but obviously the clock is ticking, the deadline is tomorrow. I think they will consider it and there is still a chance they will go back with an improved offer. There is also still a chance PSG will accept the offer that is already on the table”.
"But the official line is that at the moment, PSG will not accept the offer at the moment and Real Madrid will not increase the offer. Real Madrid's position now is this - the deadline they set has passed, they're now going to walk away because they are sure that they will get Mbappe next summer for nothing. If that's what PSG want, to kiss goodbye to €180m, that is their decision”.
"Real Madrid have tried to conduct themselves properly by paying what they believe the player is worth, despite having 10 months left on his contract, and PSG have basically ignored them. As far as the player is concerned, he wants to go to Madrid. He will not sign a new contract at PSG, but as things stand, PSG have decided not to respond to the offer and to keep Mbappe. In the short term, they will keep him. But in the long term, he will be a Real Madrid player."
