Real Madrid seems to be wanting Mbappe in squad at all costs: now and not later. After shocking the world of football with a €160M bid, now they are ready to raise that bid and fulfill PSG’s desire to earn at least €180M from this deal. On the other hand, Kyliann’s intention is very clear: he wants to join the Merengues and make his childhood dream come true as soon as possible.
On late Thursday afternoon, Real Madrid have reportedly another offer to Paris Saint-Germain for Kylian Mbappe. After initially bidding 160 million euros, this time they have upped their offer to 170m euros plus a potential 10m euros more in add-ons. PSG's sporting director Leonardo spoke on Wednesday and referenced the 180m euros that PSG were committed to paying to Monaco, following their 2017 acquisition of the young talent. With this offer of 170m euros plus 10m euros, Florentino Perez hopes to satisfy the French club's wishes.
The reports of this new offer were first announced by El Chiringuito and their validity has been confirmed by MARCA. The ball, therefore, is now back in PSG's court, with five days remaining in this summer's transfer window. It has been reported elsewhere that PSG want 220m euros if they are to let Mbappe depart this summer, as they want to make a profit on the player if they lose him now. That's despite the fact that he could be signed for free in 2022, when his current contract is due to expire.
The transfer of Kylian Mbappe is imminent, as Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are going to close an agreement after an exchange of emails, offers and words in recent days. Real Madrid have offered 170 million euros plus an additional 10m euros in potential bonuses and this will be accepted by the French club, finally allowing Mbappe his dream of representing the Spanish giants.
An official announcement could take place as soon as Friday or Saturday, with the World Cup winner set to arrive in the Spanish capital before he joins up with the French squad for the international break. Perez and his staff, though, are now aware that PSG will become an unfriendly club, as it were, despite the fact relations between the two parties had been excellent in recent years. PSG signed Mbappe four years ago, beating Los Blancos to the punch. Now, if everything goes as planned, he is going to once again be the second most expensive player in world football, only behind Neymar.
Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the president of PSG, spoke after Thursday's Champions League draw to reiterate the stance that PSG have been made to feel uncomfortable by Los Merengues' pursuit of Mbappe, although, crucially, he didn't deny that the forward was leaving the Parc des Princes.
Real Madrid believe they have done everything within the laws of football transfers and that they have acted correctly. As soon as Mbappe made it clear that he wanted to join, the destiny of the transfer was in their hands. The green light from PSG will now soon follow.
Even if the transfer isn't announced before PSG's Ligue 1 match at Reims this weekend, Mbappe would likely be left out of Mauricio Pochettino's squad for that contest. He wilk keep training with the club, though, in the meantime.
The well-known and reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano also spoke about this on social media. He wrote in his new post: “Real Madrid have made a new, final official bid to Paris Saint-Germain for Kylian Mbappé! Real Madrid have offered €170m guaranteed + €10m add ons for Kylian Mbappé now. PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi: “I've been very clear, we've been very clear. The club's stance is clear. We will NOT change it or repeat it”. Real Madrid sources feeling is that it will be the FINAL bid. Mbappé only wants Real Madrid, now or next summer. Real and nothing else. Kylian Mbappé has been so clear again today with people close to him: he only wants to join Real Madrid. He only dreams of joining Real Madrid…and his Paris Saint-Germain teammates now also know his desire.
