The following Real Madrid players have been called up to represent their national teams at the Qatar 2022 World Cup: Carvajal and Asensio for Spain; Camavinga and Tchouameni for France; Modrić for Croatia; Courtois and Hazard for Belgium; Rüdiger for Germany; Vini Jr., Rodrygo and Militão for Brazil; and Valverde for Uruguay. Their presence has been quite important with most of them being regular starters.

The Belgium’s disqualification stands out in this group stage as the Red Devils were ranked among the teams which could have an important journey in this World Cup. As Courtois has been a protagonist in some cases, the same cannot be said for Hazard who did not really bring much on pitch. Rudiger’s Germany was also promoted as a very good team with lots of promising players and also many experts and experienced players. The unexpected defeat vs Japan was crucial for their exit.

On the other hand, Uruguay of Valverde, a team that has always made very decent performances since 2010, only getting knocked by strong opponents, disappointed this year despite having an experienced team and some great young players. The tough game vs Korea and a very strong Portugal decided their journey. At the end, tied with Korea at 4 points, La Celeste was eliminated because it had scored fewer goals than South Korea in this group stage.

In a total of 12 Madridistas participating, 8 of them: Dani Carvajal, Marco Asensio, Camavinga, Tchouameni, Vini Jr., Rodrygo, Militão and Modrić, managed to qualify for the round of 16, meanwhile the two Belgians, Valverde and Rudiger will return home.
