Runners-up from the last World Cup, Croatia, are led by Modrić, who will be captaining his country. In their opening match of the group stage, the Croatians were held to a goalless draw by Morocco in a match in which the Real Madrid player played the full 90 minutes. In the second match, they take on Canada, before taking on Belgium with Courtois and Hazard in the last match.

Courtois and Hazard will represent Belgium in the World Cup. The goalkeeper played a decisive role in the narrow win over Canada with a penalty save. In the following match, Belgium will play Morocco, and in their third game they will face Modrić's Croatia.

Rüdiger is in the Germany squad for the World Cup. In his opening Group Stage match, the Madrid defender was in the starting line-up and played the full 90 minutes in the loss to Japan. The second match sees his side come up against the Spanish team featuring Carvajal and Asensio. They will conclude the group stage with a game against Costa Rica.
