On Wednesday, together with the players coming from their internatonal duties appeared Karim Benzema as well. The Frenchman who was recovering from injury finally got back to train with the team and not individually as he had done in the previous days. He is completely recovered now and will be ready for the game vs Osasuna on Sunday night. Following the training session, the French forward spoke to the club's official media.

He said: "I'm pleased to be back with the team. It's been some time and I've had time to do a pre-season. I'm feeling very good, comfortable. I'm looking forward to the game on Sunday. I've been doing a lot of fitness work. I've not touched the ball. I've trained for the first time today. I did a lot of running and strength training inside the facilities over the past few days. I also worked out at home. I was a bit late back from my holidays and I didn't have much time to do a good pre-season, which is why I've done it now and I feel very good".

The team: "The team looks very good to me, perfect. I've seen the winning all their game, scoring goals and showing their character. We've got a great team, although it could be said that we've got two teams. There's no difference between those who start the game and those who come on. The team looks very good to me".

Demanding month of October: "We have to continue. We know in our heads that we have to win every game. Every match is important. Everyone wants to beat Real Madrid, but we're in good shape and ready to keep going", he concluded.

Then, on Wednesday night Karim Benzema appeared as the star of the Premios Marca awards ceremony, where he was presented with the Pichichi Trophy as the leading marksman of the last LaLiga campaign, which saw him net 27 goals in 32 games. The captain was also the winner of the Alfredo Di Stéfano Trophy for the best player in LaLiga 2021-22, which ended in Real Madrid's 35th league title; plus the MVP Trophy as the fans' favourite player.

The Real Madrid forward had a few words to say during the event: “Alfredo Di Stéfano taught me to always believe in my dream and enjoy every moment spent at Real Madrid. That's exactly what I'm doing and I feel very much at home. I'm extremely fortunate to play for the best team in the world. I'm very proud of my work and this year will be tough but we're hungry and I'll try and deliver more than I did last year. The most important thing is to be out on the pitch and for people to enjoy themselves”.

He continued: “Winning the Pichichi Trophy is hugely important to me and I'd like to thank my teammates, the fans and the club. Our rivals want to win LaLiga every year and it changes all the time. We're a strong team and we're only concentrating on ourselves. Vini Jr. and Rodrygo are young but have already played a lot of games for Real Madrid and I'm sure they'll win this trophy too one day".

Alongside Benzema, Carlo Ancelotti (Trofeo Miguel Muñoz de Oro) and Lunin (Trofeo Puerta Jarque al Juego Limpio) also scooped awards.
