Vini Jr. has been voted the Mahou Five Star Player of August. The forward was recognised for his impressive performances over the first month of the season, during which Real Madrid won the European Super Cup and all of the three LaLiga matches they played. The Brazilian featured in all four games, netting twice and providing two assists.
The four games he featured were as follows: Real Madrid vs Eintracht Frankfurt (1 assist), Almeria vs Real Madrid (83 minutes as a constant danger and also made the great run into the box which led to Vazquez's equalizer), Celta Vigo vs Real Madrid (1 goal and 1 assist) and Espanyol vs Real Madrid (1 goal).
Upon receiving the trophy, he said: "I'm feeling very good and I'm really looking forward to this season. I'd like this season to be like the last one or even better. The coach has put his faith in me to be at ease in front of goal and I'm still working hard to improve every day".
The derby: "We're working hard in preparation for Sunday to put in a big performance. We're all focused on the derby".
The team's good form: "All the hard work we've put in during pre-season really pays off at the start of the season. The main reasons for the good start are our hard work and the mix of youth and experienced players".
The young Brazilian has been one of the key players of Ancelotti’s men and has continued that way during September as well. He has won this award another two times in the past. The first was Mahou Five Star Player of August 2021 where he scored three goals in three matches and the other one was Mahou Five Star Player of October 2021 where he scored four goals in five games.
