Vini Jr. fielded questions from the media on the eve of Real Madrid's opening Champions League encounter. The young Brazilian is looking forward to leave his mark on these opener for the new Champions League season. It was exactly him who scored the last goal of Real Madrid in Champions League (final vs Liverpool), with Los Blancos lifting the trophy at the end of the game. He has already scored three times and assisted twice since the new season kicked in.

The forward previewed the contest in the following terms: "We're really happy to have won the Champions League last season and now want to win it again. There's a good vibe and we're feeling confident. As the coach says, we have to go out and defend our crown. We'll try to keep a cool head and perform to our best for Real Madrid”.

"I'm feeling calm and have to perform to my best. If I'm at my best, alongside this club and my team-mates, I'll have another great season. I have to keep on performing to this standard and do great things out on the pitch. Great players perform for many years and I'd like to be one of them”.

Progress: "I'm keen to score more goals and provide more assists, but the target is to perform for my team to allow us to keep winning things. I'm 22 and am so keen to keep on improving. I want to deliver great things for this club, which gives me the peace of mind and confidence to be a good player. I want to prove that to our fans”.

Celtic: "They're a good side and their fans really get behind them. We can't wait for kick-off to come around. We have started to watch some videos of them and we know they won 4-0 in their last game. It's very tough to come and play here. It's my first time in this stadium. I want to put in a big performance and come away from here with the first three points”.

Spanish nationality: "The club and the supporters have always given me so muchl. I joined the club when I was 18 and had just started out in my career. I'm now 22 and have very clear ideas about things. The fans show great love for me. I love being in Madrid and the same goes for my family. My family are very clear about wanting to live here for a long time and that pleases me. That's why I want to stay at Madrid for a long time”.

"I always listen to my loved ones and those who are there for me day in, day out, which is my family. I try hard for my family and those who are aware of all the hard work I put in every day and the sacrifices I make to be a good footballer. I hope it turns out to be a season that's full of many more goals and assists. I want to keep improving and stay here for a long time, like Modrić, Marcelo, Karim or Toni, who are club legends”, he continued.

Opposition: "They're a side that just don't stop running and they battle very hard. I haven't seen many of their games and we'll have to see more of them before tomorrow. Things are clear in our minds and we have to keep performing as we have been”.

Learning journey: "I have to improve in all areas. I continue to progress and want to carry on until the last day of my life. All of the players teach me a great deal. Playing alongside Karim and seeing that he's still developing at 34 drives me on to keep on improving. I have to keep showing the same level of desire and being at the best club in the world is really tough”.

Celtic Park: "I love these kinds of games and playing in packed stadiums, where there's loads of pressure. All the Madrid players like things to be that way and I hope it's a great game tomorrow night.
